Context:
IOM’s Department Media and Communications Unit (DMC) is comprised of experienced communications professionals based in Geneva and Manila.
The team provides advice and support on media and public information issues to IOM Headquarters and missions worldwide. It is responsible for direct media relations with UN-accredited Geneva press corps and others, administers IOM’s global social media accounts and website, and manages content submitted from around the world to be published on those global platforms, oversees institutional branding, and initiates and manages global information campaigns. DMC produces a wide range of print and audio-visual materials for a variety of audiences to enhance understanding about IOM’s work and its position as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, and to advocate on behalf of the rights of migrants worldwide.
Under the overall supervision of the Director of DMC and direct supervision of the Deputy Director of DMC, the Head of the Multimedia will be responsible and accountable for the formulation, management, and implementation of creative communication strategies to promote IOM and raise awareness of migration in the media and among the general public.
1. Manage, provide strategic advice and expertise, and supervise the graphic design and branding, the multimedia teams, and project managers in the strategic development of messaging and content.
2. Oversee and approve suitable graphic design (social media card, infographics, etc.) and AV products designed and produced to support the institutional visibility and media engagement efforts of the newsroom.
3. Review, edit, revise, and approve content developed by the creative teams, ensuring that deliverables address marketing goals and challenges effectively.
4. Plan, lead, and oversee the production of fresh, innovative work that translates complex ideas into compelling graphic and digital experiences for a variety of audiences.
5. Commission, script, produce, and direct video clips of the Senior Management Team for broadcast at IOM and other events worldwide and web posting.
6. Coordinate creative content development output with headquarters (HQs) departments, including the development of promotional materials.
7. Provide expert technical advice, training, and assistance to field missions in the development of graphic and audio-visual materials.
8. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an advantage.
