About Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor- Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program’s (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximise the benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks from labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of DFAT.

This Opportunity

The Content Coordinator will support the PLMSP media, stakeholder engagement and communications activities to faci litate the sustainable expansion of Pacific labour mobility, manage the reputation of the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme and provide important information to labour mobility stakeholders in Australia, the Pacific and Timor-Leste. The position will work closely with colleagues across the PLMSP to coordinate engaging materials for audiences in Australia, the Pacific and Timor-Leste to inform and build understanding, influence perceptions, and enhance worker wellbeing.

This is a fixed term opportunity required to September 2028.

The Content Coordinator will be responsible for:

Implement and contribute to the delivery of the facility’s communications strategy as an active member of the communications team.
Collect photography and videography on content gathering trips, helping to capture compelling stories that highlight the impact of our work.
Develop engaging, accurate communications content tailored for diverse audiences across Australia, the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
Ensure the quality of communication materials including reviewing for accuracy and key messaging, quality control and editing, adherence to branding guidelines and DFAT protocols.
Support the LSUs with upskilling staff in content creation and other communication activities as required.
Identify good news stories and coordinate content gathering opportunities both in Australia and the Pacific.
Support general communications and administrative duties across the team (e.g., digital/social media support, procurement) as required.
Support the Communications team to execute country-specific marketing activities, where needed, including field visits, workshops and media events.
Maintain an understanding of regional contexts and make appropriate recommendations to build local understanding of the PALM scheme in the sending countries, enhance its reputation and manage risks.

We are seeking an individual who has:

A degree in media, communications, or related discipline, or an equivalent combination of relevant skills and professional experience.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in communications, content creation, videography, photography, or video editing role.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Experience in developing content for digital media sources.
Ability to multitask, be well organised and with a high attention to detail.
Skilled in using Microsoft Office software.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite tools relevant to content production, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, In Design and Lightroom.
Experience in using digital media and producing organic content to build an audience.
Excellent storytelling ability with proven experience developing engaging, audience-focused content across a range of platforms.
Highly organised, with strong time management, the ability to juggle multiple tasks, and exceptional attention to detail.
